چکیده
Motivation The goal of the Russian Arctic Vegetation Archive (AVA-RU) is to unite and harmonize data plot-based plant species their abundance, vegetation structure environmental variables from Arctic. This database can be used assess status as a baseline document biodiversity changes in future. archive for scientific studies well inform nature protection restoration efforts. Main types contained contains 2873 open-access geobotanical plots. include full species. Most plots information on horizontal (cover per morphological group) vertical (average height vegetation, site soil descriptions quality estimations. In addition data, AVA-RU website 1912 restricted-access Spatial location grain 1–100 m2 size were sampled Russia Scandinavia. Plots covered areas West East, including European (Kola Peninsula, Nenets Autonomous district), Western Siberia (Northern Urals, Yamal, Taza Gydan peninsulas), Central (Taymyr peninsula, Bolshevik island), Eastern (Indigirka basin) Far East (Wrangel island). About 72% samples are georeferenced. Time period collected once at each between 1927 2022. Major taxa level measurement observations >1770 vascular cryptogam subspecies. Software format CSV files (1 file with list 1 structure) stored (https://avarus.space/), continuously updated new datasets. available Dryad all datasets have backup server University Zurich. processing R script Dryad.

VEGETATION PATTERN ALONG ENVIRONMENTAL GRADIENTS: CONTINUUM OR COMMUNITY The concept of vegetation continuum and changing species composition along environmental gradients emerged as an antithesis of plant community
This paper presents a short review of gradient analysis basic theory, approaches and application. Contradictory viewpoints of vegetation organization along the environmental gradients are discussed. Different environmental gradients influencing plant species are considered. These are complex environmental gradients, resource gradients and direct gradients. Two approaches of gradient analysis ar...
متن کاملWisconsin Vegetation Database – plant community survey and resurvey data from the Wisconsin Plant Ecology Laboratory
Legacy data provide valuable baselines for assessing ecological changes. Excellent baseline data for Wisconsin's plant communities exist because of the surveys conducted by J.T. Curtis and colleagues (the Wisconsin Plant Ecology Laboratory or PEL) in the 1940s and 1950s. They surveyed > 2,000 sites to test how plant community composition varies along environmental gradients. These sites include...

متن کاملInvestigating the applicability of conventional vegetation indices for vegetation change detection in different environmental conditions
Vegetation indices have been developed to characterize and extract the Earth's vegetation cover from space using satellite images. For detection of vegetation changes, usually temporal images are independently analyzed or vegetation index differencing is implemented. A review on previous studies reveal that, in spite of developing several vegetation indices, to extract vegetation cover or veget...

Gu, B. and M.V. Hoyer. 2005. Community structure and environmental conditions in Florida shallow lakes dominated by submerged aquatic vegetation. Lake and Reserv. Manage. 21(4):403-410. Florida inland waters are dominated by shallow lakes, many of which support the growth of submerged aquatic vegetation (SAV). We examined the species composition and selected environmental variables of SAV-domin...
